Re: GLOBAL MEET OF ALL MARGIIS TO FURTHER THE AGENDA OF ONE UNITED AM

Dear brothers and sisters,

Re: GLOBAL MEET OF ALL MARGIIS TO FURTHER THE AGENDA OF ONE UNITED AM

A meeting of important South Indian family margiis (margiis of Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka) under the guidance of Ac.Kishan Sood from Patna was held in Bangalore on 16/17 February 2008. They discussed at length for 2 days the existing problems in AMPS and the solutions thereof. I am enumerating hereinbelow the same and this will be useful for your pre-discussions in the field and in the discussions during Global Meet:

Problems:
1. Misinterpretation of Caryacarya
2. Absence of spirit of welfare while imposing discipline
3. Encouraging groupist mentality
4. Non-compliance to Caryacarya – in structural and organizational administration (Non-functioning of Purodha Board & Central Committee)
5. Hunger for Power & position
6. Purodhaship as a tool of Vote bank
7. Absence of independent and strong judiciary in administration.
8. Absence of Sense of Sacrifice
9. Weak top leadership
10. Extra-constitutional wielding of powers by a few for personal agenda
11. Encouraging division of margiis
12. Victimisation of margiis & WTs .

Solutions based on the TOUCHSTONE SMART
(Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time-bound)
1. Interactions and working together on common platform - Kiiratana, Sadhana Shivir, Relief activities, RU/RAWA, DMS.
2. Communication.
3. Change of Leadership.
4. Education and awakening of family margiis.
5. Counseling by senior margiis to problem-creators.
6. Concentration on positive missionary work.
7. Identify the vested interests and discourage them by non-co-operation.
8. Plans to bring all groups together – bilaterally attending the common. programmes, deal with case to case, collective wisdom should prevail, exercise patience.
9. Dealing with conflicting interests.
10. Avoid escapism and acceptance of responsibility – Involve dynamic, rational and spirited youngsters and neutral people to handle.
11. Democratisation of functioning (BP elections should also be democratic)
12. Forgive and Forget the past.
13. Withdrawal of recognition of existing Purodhas and raising the minimum standards of a Purodha.
14. Moral boosting of junior and young WTs and WT Didis

With brotherly regards,
S S Goenka
